CHICAGO (WLS) -- More than a hundred teens showcased their Chicago pride on Monday night.

They took part in this year's After School Matters program and performed at the program's annual gala on Monday night.

The gala celebrated a year of providing after-school and summer programs for more than 17,000 Chicago teenagers.

"When the bell goes off at the end of the day, or the end of the year, our responsibility to our kids does not end. In fact, it just begins," Mayor Emanuel said in a statement.

It was held at DePaul's new Wintrust Arena at McCormick Square.
