Police are now trying to track down the group of robbers who held up multiple people at gunpoint in broad daylight on Goose Island.
Eddie Pickens, who works at the Restaurant Depot off Division Street, said his coworker was one of the victims.
"He was out here, helping a customer, putting groceries in the car, and three masked men came out of nowhere, and at gunpoint, robbed them," Pickens said.
Police said the robberies happened in the 1000 block of West Division Street just after 2 p.m. Pickens said it was about an hour before the store's closing time.
"It was broad open in the daylight, and the customers were all out," Pickens said.
Police said four robbers got out of a dark-colored SUV and pointed guns at the victims while demanding their property. Then, the robbers got back in the SUV and drove away.
