A shooting that left a man dead after he was shot in the eye early Saturday morning, just steps away from the doors of an emergency room, is believed to be connected to an earlier double-murder shooting on Chicago's South Side, police said.
Oak Lawn police responded to a disturbance call outside Advocate Christ Medical Center around 2 a.m. after a large group of individuals was seen near the emergency room entrance in the 9400-block of S. Kilbourn Avenue.

When officers arrived, they heard a single gunshot coming from the group's area, police said.
A 28-year-old man from Rockford, Illinois, was found on the ground with a gunshot wound through his left eye. Officer said they also saw another man running from the scene.
The victim was brought into the emergency room with life-threatening injuries, where he later died, police said. He has been identified as Brandon McGee, according to the medical examiner.
Witnesses told officers the man seen fleeing the area was the shooter and that man was subsequently taken into custody.
He was later identified as 36-year-old Marques Rose, of Chicago, and a loaded revolver believed to be the gun used in the shooting was recovered, police said.
Rose has been charged with one count of first degree murder in the shooting death of McGee. He was denied bond Sunday and is set to be back in court Tuesday.
Both McGee and Rose are believed to have been part of the group causing the disturbance outside the hospital when police were initially called.

The preliminary investigation indicates this incident is related to a double-murder near the 800-block of W. 87th Street in Chicago that occurred shortly before the shooting.
Police said in that first shooting, two men were killed around 12:55 a.m. in Auburn Gresham on the city's South Side.
Both men, whose ages were unknown, were found by responding officers.
One man suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest and was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The other man was shot in the head and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later died, according to police. Officers found a handgun lying next to him at the scene.

No arrests were reported in the Auburn Gresham shooting and area detectives are investigating.
Rose will be transported to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse at 26th and California for a bond hearing on December 4, police said.
