August 4 named Barack Obama Day in Illinois

Friday, August 4, 2017
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- On Friday, Gov. Rauner signed the bill designating every August 4 as Barack Obama Day in Illinois starting in 2018. The governor signed the bill in recognition of Obama's career serving in the Illinois State Senate, the United States Senate and as president.

August 4 is also former President Barack Obama's 56th birthday, but there's no word on what he's doing to celebrate.

But it will be a lot different from last year when he held a star-studded celebration at the White House.
