A new retail development project was launched Wednesday that promises a unique mix of consumer products and services.
Organizers say Chatham Center Chicago will offer big-box stores, boutiques and restaurants.
"We want to make sure we don't have to go downtown to shop. We don't have to go to Hyde Park or Orland Park to get our goods and services," said Ald. Roderick Sawyer (6th Ward).
The new retail district will include street banners and other branding as a way of attracting and keeping dollars in the neighborhood.
