2 Chicago firefighters injured in Chinatown blaze

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two Chicago firefighters were injured while responding to a fire in Chinatown Monday morning.

Firefighters began battling the blaze at a two-story townhouse in the 200-block of W. 25th Place around 10:30 a.m. The fire was put out around 11:30 a.m.

The Chicago Fire Department said one firefighter was rushed to the hospital in fair-to-serious condition. A second firefighter was transported with an undisclosed injury to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

All residents were accounted for and no other injuries were reported, the fire department said. Human Services was requested for one adult and one child.

The fire displaced seven adults and five children. Its cause remains under investigation.
