CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person was killed and another was injured in a Monday afternoon shooting on Chicago's Southwest Side, fire officials said.
The shooting happened outside a Walgreens near West 47th Street and South Western Avenue in the city's Brighton Park neighborhood.

Chicago police said just before 5 p.m., the male, whose age is not known, was on the sidewalk when a car pulled up and someone inside pulled out a gun and opened fire.
The victim was struck in the shoulder and behind, and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he died.
A Chicago Fire Department spokesperson said another person was taken to a local hospital in good condition. Police said that person was not shot but it wasn't immediately clear if they were hit by glass or something else.

Area One Detectives are investigating. No further information was released.
Walgreens released a statement, saying, "Our thoughts are with the families of the victims. The safety of our patients, customers and team members is our priority. We are cooperating with Chicago Police in their investigation."
