ABC7 talked to his brothers on Friday afternoon at the medical examiner's office, and they have been in a state of shock. They said their 32-year-old brother was someone who spent his life giving to others.

It was a gut-wrenching feeling for the two men as they flew into Chicago to identify their brother, who was shot and killed Thursday night in a high-rise apartment in the Loop.
Police said they arrived at a building in the first block of East Monroe Street at about 7:38 p.m. and found Joseph in the hallway with multiple gunshot wounds. He died shortly after at Northwestern Hospital.
Community activist Andrew Holmes has been helping the family get some answers, but said they're understandably devastated.
"They're really hurt and disturbed. You come to the ME office, you're hoping that it's not, and you get here, and look and see it's your family member. It sends your whole body, your mind, your heart off into another world," Holmes said.
What led up to the shooting is still unclear, but police said there was some sort of argument between Joseph and a 45-year-old man, and that man then pulled out a gun and shot him.

Police said the offender is a concealed-carry license holder. He is now in custody and being questioned by police.
In the meantime, Intrinsic Schools is offering social workers and resources to students and staff who need help as they mourn the loss of Joseph.
In a statement, the school said, "We are deeply saddened and shocked by the loss of Mr. Joseph who served our school as an empathetic leader, role model and inspiration for our students. We are communicating this tragedy to our community and providing any support needed to both students and his colleagues during this difficult time. Our hearts are with Mr. Joseph's family."
