Police said a 41-year-old man was found unresponsive lying in the street with several gunshot wounds at about 5:15 a.m. just outside Frazier Elementary School in the 4000-block of West Grenshaw Street.
He was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital where police said he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not released his identity.

Frazier Elementary School said children should enter the school from the back doors behind the school while police investigate.
Further details on the shooting were not immediately available. Area Four detectives are investigating.
