"I just remember kid of passing out on the floor after like the last bullet," he told ABC7 I nFebruary.
Earley was shot in May 2022 when he was walking near Wayne and Webster avenues. He was ambushed by robbers and shot three times, including in the head.
The 24-year-old culinary school graduate spent weeks fighting for his life, undergoing numerous surgeries and lost part of his leg.
Tyshon Brownlee, 19, was also charged in the attack, along with four other armed robberies on the North Side.

"He doesn't want to wish ill will on anybody. That's just not the kind of person that Dakotah is, but he is happy that this person won't be out roaming the streets and capable of doing what they did to him," said Jason Baumann of Disparti Law Group, which represents Earley.
Appearing in court Tuesday afternoon, the suspect stood charged with, among other things, attempted murder and armed robbery. He remains unnamed because while he is an adult now, the alleged crimes were committed when he was a minor and he has been charged as a juvenile. It is unclear how that may impact any potential sentencing should be convicted.
"They're just really happy that he's off the streets," Baumann said. "There was someone out there yesterday who was capable of such heinous crimes and today that person is not on the streets, so. We want to make sure he stays that way."
Joy Dobbs, Earley's mother, said in a statement, "It is with mixed emotions that we hear of the arrest of the second person in the shooting of Dakotah. We are happy that this individual has been removed from our streets and will be held accountable for his role in the shooting. But it is also very hard for us to relive that day again."
The suspect is being held without bond. His next court date is June 7.
