8 people rescued from downtown Chicago elevator

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Eight people were rescued from an elevator in a downtown Chicago apartment building.

They were stuck for about four hours. The rescue was complicated for Chicago firefighters.

They had to rappel down from the roof of the building in the 400-block of East Erie in order to reach all eight people.

There were no injuries.
