The stabbing happened in the station's platform and stair area at about 9:57 p.m. in the West Town neighborhood's 100 block of North Ashland Avenue, police said.

The male victim, whose age was unknown, was stabbed in the neck with a knife while arguing with an unknown male offender, police said. He waved down officers and removed the knife from his neck.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition, police said.
No one is in custody and Area Three detectives are investigating.
The CTA said it reviewed video footage and found that the stabbing did not happen on their property.
"The CTA has conducted a preliminary review of video footage and found that reported stabbing did not occur in the Ashland Green Line station or on CTA property. CTA continues to assist CPD in its investigation of the incident," the CTA said in a statement.
