Mom shares son's medical struggle in new book

Kristen and Ozzie Skenderi shared the story their son's Gaucher disease diagnosis in their new book, "Holding Hope in Our Hands."

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Kristen and Ozzie Skenderi shared the story their son's Gaucher disease diagnosis in their new book, "Holding Hope in Our Hands."

The Skenderi's stopped by ABC7 on Saturday to talk about their journey and their son, Nixon.

A portion of the book sales goes back to help Nixon's medical costs and $1 of each printed book sold will go toward hospitals and nonprofits that helped him.
