Illinois House passes budget

Thursday, May 31, 2018
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- The Illinois House passed the $38 billion budget measure by a lopsided vote of 97 to 14 Thursday. It followed the Senate's approval of the bill Wednesday night.

The bill now goes to Gov. Bruce Rauner who is expected to sign it.

If signed, this would be the first budget deal completed on time in Rauner's three years in office.

The budget year begins July 1.
