Here's what some potential employers can no longer ask in a job interview

Friday, April 7, 2017
NEW YORK -- If you are being interviewed for a new job, it will soon be illegal for your potential new boss to ask about your previous salaries.

The New York City Council passed a bill on Wednesday that bans companies from asking about job candidates' previous wages.

If the employer already knows the candidate's salary history, as in the case of an internal candidate, they won't be allowed to use that information to determine the new salary.
