CHICAGO (WLS) -- The 7th annual Make Music Chicago is holding free concert events throughout the city on Wednesday.

In Chicago, 175 different performances are scheduled for 65 locations in the city, said Kuang-Hao Huang, Make Music Chicago artistic director.

The events are part of an international day of music-making being celebrated in 750 cities in 102 countries to raise awareness of racial injustice.

Early Wednesday, the string quartet from "Hamilton" performed in the alley outside the stage door in the Loop near Monroe and Dearborn. Several different types of music events will be held, including play-alongs and a harmonica blowout in the McKinley Park neighborhood where participants will get a free harmonica and a free lesson.
