CHICAGO (WLS) -- Alderman David Moore (Ward 17) is offering a $4,000 reward for information about the death of 59-year-old Michael Paul Anderson, who was shot outside his Marquette Park home Wednesday morning.

Moore knew Anderson personally and professionally, and said he was shocked to learn the popular local mural artist was killed during an apparent robbery attempt.

Anderson's death shocked his neighbors and the community at large. While he was known for his murals, the former Marine also mentored young men in his community and started a program to teach gang members auto restoration skills.
