LISLE - The West Suburban Humane Society invites families and their furry friends for a day of food and fun at the 24th Annaul Barkapalooza walkathon and expo. The event is happening on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Lisle Community Park. Organizers hope the fun-filled day brings people and their pets together to raise money for homeless dogs and cats. Participants are encouraged to collect pledges for the walkathon, and all proceeds will support the West Suburban Humane Society, at their signature annual fundraiser. A blessing for the animals will be given at 10:00 a.m. to kick off the event, and the Skydogz Frisbee Team and the West Suburban Humane Society Alumni Agility Dogs will also perform. For the kids, there will be clowns, face painting, balloon sculptures, a "Kids and Kindness Zone", scavenger hunt, and other games. Food trucks and food vendors will be onsite throughout the event with human food, dog treats, and refreshments for all. Carolyn Mossberger, the executive director for the West Suburban Humane Society, and Dana Busiel-Baab, owner of Pitty Que, joined ABC 7 to show off some of the grub you can expect at the event.
