1 injured in Uptown apartment fire, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Flames tore through an Uptown apartment building Tuesday morning, leaving one woman injured, Chicago police said.

Authorities responded at about 1:11 a.m. to the fire in the 4900-block of North Glenwood Avenue.



One woman was transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center for smoke inhalation, where she was listed in good condition, police said.

At least seven people have to find a new place to stay. The Red Cross is working to find shelter for the people impacted.
