2 SW Side restaurants damaged in attempted burglaries, ATM stolen, CPD says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two restaurants on Kedzie Avenue on Chicago's Southwest Side were damaged in attempted burglaries early Friday morning, Chicago police said.

A Gage Park restaurant was damaged after CPD says two male suspects drove an SUV into the taqueria at 56th Street and Kedzie just before 4 a.m.



The suspects did not get inside, and nothing was taken.

They fled on foot.

About 4 miles north, the side glass door of George's Hot Dogs, at 26th Street and Kedzie in Little Village, was broken just before 5 a.m., CPD said.



Three suspects got inside and took an ATM, according to police. They drove away in a silver sedan.

No injuries were reported in either incident; Chicago police are investigating.
