Athletes take on Bank of America Chicago 13.1-mile race Sunday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Runners laced their shoes to take on the Bank of America Chicago 13.1 half-marathon on Sunday in Douglass, Garfield and Humboldt parks.



The 13-mile course started at 7 a.m. and finish in Garfield Park. It will travel through Douglass and Humboldt parks.

Street Closures



No parking zones along the course will be enforced beginning at 1 a.m. on Sunday.



Street closures along the route will occur between 5:30 and 11 a.m.



As runners pass points along the route, streets will reopen to allow traffic to return to normal as quickly as possible, according to Chicago's Office of Emergency Management and Communications.

The street closures will start be in effect until 5p.m. Monday.
