CTA planning fare hike in 2026, budget scenarios show

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The CTA is detailing fare increases as part of its proposed 2026 budget.

The CTA released three budget scenarios on Monday, depending on funding the agency receives. They all include a fare hike.



The base fare would increase by $0.25.

Single-day passes would increase by $1.



Thirty-day passes would increase by $10.

This comes after Metra announced fare increases for next year.
