3 injured in Gage Park after SUV hits bicyclist, fire hydrant, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Three people were injured in a crash in the Gage Park neighborhood involving an SUV and a bicycle Thursday night, Chicago police said.

The crash occurred at about 11:39 p.m. in the 5800-block of South Western Avenue.



Police said a driver hit a man on his bicycle, and then struck a fire hydrant, crashed into the fence of a car dealership, and the vehicle rolled over

The bicyclist is in fair condition and a passenger in the s-u-v has minor injuries. The driver was transported to the hospital and his condition was not immediately known.



The Chicago Police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
