Overtime is back after a hiatus, and so are the Chicago Bears. Training camp began this week, and Dionne was at Halas Hall covering the Bears and doing Overtime from Lake Forest.
New head coach Ben Johnson gets to run things for the first time in his career, and he says he is full throttle on righting the Bears ship.
Adam Hoge and Adam Jahns, hosts of "Hoge & Jahns" podcast, joined Dionne to discuss what they expect from the Bears. They also discussed the subtle differences that will make Johnson more effective than previous Bears head coaches.
Former Bears defensive lineman Henry Melton was a Pro Bowl player on the field, but his biggest battle came earlier this year when his heart nearly gave out while dining with his young daughter. Dionne spent time with him while he rehabs himself back to better health. He said we should all not take life for granted, while also saying he doesn't take the support the Bears gave him for granted either.
This weekend is round two of the Crosstown Classic. With the MLB All-Star Break now in the rearview mirror, the Chicago Cubs all of a sudden find the Mlwaukee Brewers no longer chasing them, and they're in front. Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox are one of the hottest teams after the break, making this a more anticipated crosstown matchup than fans of either side of town originally planned.
