CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two pups made a morning appearance on ABC7 Eyewitness News, spotlighting the work of Just Giants Rescue, a foster-based nonprofit dedicated to saving giant-breed dogs.
Champagne and Bubbles, both available for adoption, joined Michelle Baun, president of Just Giants Rescue, and Leea Lovich, the organization's vice president, during the station's 7 a.m. newscast.
Baun and Lovich emphasized that giant-breed dogs are often calmer and more gentle than people expect, making them great companions for the right families. They also explained the importance of the rescue's thorough adoption process, which includes applications, home checks and placing dogs in foster homes before adoption to ensure the best possible match.
Just Giants Rescue is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) organization that places all of its dogs in foster homes, where they are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and temperament tested before becoming available for adoption. The group also relies on community support through fostering, donations, volunteering and sharing information about adoptable dogs.
