Man accused of killing CPD officer, wounding another at Swedish Hospital wants to represent himself

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The man accused of killing a Chicago police officer told a judge on Tuesday that he wants to represent himself.

Alphanso Talley is charged in the late April shooting at Swedish Hospital.



CPD Officer John Bartholomew was killed, and another officer was critically hurt.

The judge on Tuesday kept Talley's public defenders on the case and ordered a psychological evaluation to determine whether he is fit to represent himself.



Talley was also charged on Tuesday for refusing to provide a DNA sample when he was arrested. His next court date is July 15.
