CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two dogs who are a bonded pair, after being rescued from a rail line in Chicago, have been adopted together, the Anti-Cruelty organization said Friday.

Bird and Dee are constantly by each other's side.

On Thursday night, they were adopted together by a family of four.

"This story resonated with so many people because the bond between Bird and Dee was impossible to miss," said Darlene Duggan, president of Anti-Cruelty. "We are deeply grateful to every person who shared their story and helped them find a home together. Their adoption is a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for animals in need."

Anti-Cruelty staff and volunteers who cared for Bird and Dee throughout their stay described the adoption as emotional, but rewarding, knowing the pair would remain together in a loving home, the organization said.
