CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- Two people charged in connection with the death of a Plainfield man, who was found dismembered in Lake Mattoon, appeared in court on Monday.

James Adams and Robin Turner will stay in custody. Both are charged with concealment of a homicide and dismembering a human body.

The judge gave the state more time to file petitions for denying pretrial release.

The two were arrested last week, days after the remains of 38-year-old Dalewayne Turner were found.

Boaters said they were on the lake in in Cumberland County, attempting to move what they believed were dead fish, when they found part of a human arm.

Turner is due back in court on Thursday and Adams is due back in court on Friday.
