Arrest made after Pilsen church tagged with racist graffiti

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Charges are pending against a 60-year-old man after a church in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood was defaced with racist graffiti for the 6th time, police said.

Lincoln United Methodist Church said someone has been leaving disturbing graffiti on its building for the past six months. The church has a mostly Latino congregation.

Police released video of someone seen writing on the front door on Tuesday.

Chicago police said the suspected vandal was arrested in the 2300-block of S. Seeley on Wednesday afternoon.

The church's pastor said the messages get more violent with each incident. The vandal, or vandals, also left a swastika with each message.
