Aryana Trevino Martinez was found just a few hours after an Amber Alert went out on Sunday.
A neighbor located her in a drainage channel but questions remain on how she got there.
Medics tried their best to revive the two-year-old, but she was pronounced dead moments later.
"You can't walk like one step without grass all over you, you know. and the weeds are taller than me, I'm six feet. Those weeds are taller than me, and I can't see a little girl walking through those," neighbor Adrian Gomez.
Investigators are asking those same questions, and they're looking for surveillance video.
A cause of death has not yet been announced.
