18-year-old shot, critically injured inside moving vehicle in Ashburn: police

CHICAGO (WLS) -- An 18-year-old man was shot inside a moving vehicle on the city's Southwest Side early Saturday morning, Chicago police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the Ashburn neighborhood's 8300-block of South Kedzie Avenue just before 4:15 a.m.



As the vehicle was moving, another car passed by, and someone inside opened fire, police said.

The victim, shot in the body, was transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition.



Area detectives are investigating. Authorities did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
