AURORA, Ill. (WLS) -- Aurora police said Tuesday they found a body in a retention pond while searching for a missing woman.

Aurora police previously said 32-year-old Shafia S. Murad was last seen in the area of the Chicago Premium Outlet Mall around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Family members say Murad is a vulnerable adult who needs medication and may appear confused or disoriented.

Investigators believe she may have been trying to travel to Chicago after leaving the outlet mall area.

Aurora police found a body about 7:35 p.m. Monday night in the area of North Farnsworth Avenue and Corporate Boulevard, which is near the outlet mall.

The person has not been positively identified, and the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

Aurora police said officers initially searched the outlet mall and surrounding area after Murad was reported missing.

They also reviewed video that showed her traveling to the area of North Farnsworth and Corporate Boulevard.

The investigation remains ongoing.
