Chicago shooting: 13-year-old girl among 4 shot inside Back of the Yards business, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A teenage girl was among four people shot inside a South Side business on Monday night, Chicago police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the 1500-block of West 51st Street in the Back of the Yards neighborhood just before 8:30 p.m.



Officers responded to a call about shots fired in the area and found four people who had been shot inside a business.

The victims told police that they were inside when they heard multiple shots and the breaking of windows.



A 29-year-old man, shot in his neck, and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. His condition was later upgraded to good.

A 13-year-old girl, shot in her lower back, was transported to Comer Children's Hospital in fair condition.

A 48-year-old woman, shot in her arm, was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

A 57-year-old woman, shot in her hand, was transported to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition.

What led up to the shooting was not immediately clear.



No one is in custody and Area One detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
