The crash happened at about 7 p.m. in the 7000-block of Ogden Avenue, Berwyn police said.
Police said the 48-year-old driver likely experienced a medical emergency before he lost control, crossed the median and crashed into the back tires of a semi.
Video obtained by ABC7 shows an SUV with extensive damage.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he died.
The 48-year-old man's identity was not released.
