Man struck, killed while crossing street in Bridgeview, driver being questioned, police say

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (WLS) -- A driver struck and killed a man who was crossing a street Sunday morning in Bridgeview, police said.

The crash happened in the 7100 block of South Harlem Avenue, near SeatGeek Stadium.



Officials said the driver was stopped by police a few blocks away and was being questioned.

The identity of the pedestrian who was killed has not been released.



Harlem Avenue was shut down in both directions for the investigation.

No further information was available.
