"With the dedicated partnership between the FBI and the Sacramento Police Department, we can now announce that Camron Lee is in custody," District Attorney Thien Ho said.
A life-changing moment for a Sacramento family after grieving the loss of a loved one and the disappearance of three-year-old Mateo and five-year-old Athena Lee.
In January, Dawn Bodea, the mother of Angelica Bravo, once again pleaded for help finding her two grandchildren who had not been seen since 2024.
In July 2024, Bravo was found dead inside her ex-boyfriend's home in Sacramento, which raised suspicions from the start.
"From the moment, Angelica's body was found in the house, immediately there were suspicious circumstances around it," the D.A. said.
Investigators believed the suspect Camron Lee, the children's father, fled to Mexico with the children.
Authorities say the children were reunited with their family this week.
"We are also relieved to announce that the children were found in his custody. They've been brought back and they have been reunited with their maternal grandmother," Ho said.
The FBI received a tip about two weeks ago regarding Lee's whereabouts and with help from Mexican authorities. Investigators say he was detained
