The father was one of two customers inside the store when the car went through the front doors and windows of the store, located in the 5600-block of West Diversey, around 11 a.m. Friday, police said.

The father had left the car running while he was inside and told the boy to roll down the windows. The boy apparently stepped on the acceleration pedal.
Miguel Diaz, a shopper in the store, said he thought it was a crash-and-grab robbery attempt.
No one was seriously injured.
The father was given three citations, including one for not having a driver's license.
