A 48-year-old man said he parked his vehicle in the 2400-block of North Cannon Drive from about 2 to 3:30 p.m., and the front passenger window was broken when he returned.
A small amount of money was stolen from the vehicle, Chicago police said.
A 30-year-old woman said she parked her vehicle in the same block from about 2:50 to 3:55 p.m. Wednesday, and her front passenger window was also broken when she returned.
Personal property was stolen, CPD said.
No one is in custody, and Area Three detectives are investigating.
"I was kind of shocked, you know. I immediately went to sit in my vehicle, and I was like, 'I didn't leave one of the windows down,'" victim Samuel Delahunty said.
Delahunty's 2016 Ford Fiesta was damaged.
He said he was out with a friend in Lincoln Park, visiting the Nature Museum, when he decided to leave his car parked along Cannon Drive.
"We took one vehicle to go get lunch. That's when we came back to my vehicle to drop me off and noticed that the window was busted out. And my car was rummaged through," Delahunty said.
His passenger window was broken, and the glove compartment was ripped out.
Luckily, nothing was taken.
"My friend said that, you know, Lincoln Park has been a hot spot probably this month for break-ins. But I didn't realize that until after the fact I parked there," Delahunty said.
Delahunty said he's been quoted anywhere from $200 to $500 to replace his car window.
Last month, at least eight vehicles were broken into in the same area, police said.
CPD encouraged those in the area to hide valuables inside the car, or to remove them, and report suspicious activity.
Police previously said two suspects were seen wearing black or gray jumpsuits and ski masks.
