Driver killed in fiery crash in Archer Heights, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man died in a fiery crash on the city's Southwest Side on Saturday, Chicago police said.



The crash happened at about 11:50 p.m. in the 4400-Block of S. Pulaski Road, according to police.

A man was speeding northbound on Pulaski in a white Jeep Cherokee, when police said he struck a 67 -year-old male in a Honda Pilot who was entering traffic onto Pulaski.

The driver of the Cherokee lost control and struck a tree, then a fence.



The Cherokee caught on fire, and the driver died at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Chicago PD Area One detectives are investigating.
