Driver crashes into light pole on NW Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Crews were seen on the city's Northwest Side after Chicago police said driver crashed into a light pole on Thursday.



The crash happened at about 3:38 a.m. in the 2000-block of N. Ashland Avenue, police said.

A 25-year-old man was driving a Jeep Comanche when he lost control and crashed into a light pole, police said.

The crash happened on Thursday at about 3:38 a.m. at Ashland and Elston Avenue, police said.



The driver had some cuts on his face but declined further help and transportation to the hospital, police said.



By 6:20 a.m. the crash was no longer impacting traffic.

Chopper 7 was over the scene as crews worked to restore the damage to the light pole.
