Blossom, an 11-month-old merle Yorkshire terrier, serves as a service dog for 9-year-old Damali Beene, who has autism. According to the family, the dog escaped through a wooden side fence Sunday evening while playing fetch in the yard, in the 7500 block of South King Drive in Greater Grand Crossing.
Doorbell video shows Blossom walking toward two young people riding a motor scooter. The individuals can be heard calling for the dog before one of the girls picks Blossom up, climbs back onto the scooter and rides away with the other girl.
"Picked her up, and was, like, 'Look at this. Ok, go, go, go, go, go,'" Destiny Dockery said.
The incident happened in front of the family's home near 76th Street and King Drive, according to the family.
Since Blossom disappeared, family members say they have checked local shelters, notified veterinary clinics, and distributed fliers throughout the neighborhood in hopes of finding the dog and reuniting her with Damali.

"She depends on her 24/7. Since she's - Blossom has been gone, my daughter cries all day long," Dockery said.
Dockery also appealed to the community for help in returning the dog.
"If their parents see it, their grandparents, just do the right thing," she said.
The family filed a police report and said Blossom can be returned safely with no questions asked.
