Woman charged in connection to death of 2-month-old boy in South Shore, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman has been charged in connection to the death of a baby this week on the city's South Side.

A 2-month-old boy was found unresponsive after 6 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 2300 block of East 70th Place in South Shore, Chicago police said.



The infant was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. He was identified as 2-month-old Ryan Molton.

Andrea Thomas, 31, was arrested at the home the same day, CPD said. She was later charged with "Cause Child Endangered/Death" in connection to Molton's death.

Thomas' relation to the child was not immediately known.



No further information was immediately available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
