Burglars target new South Loop restaurant, surveillance video shows

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A new South Loop restaurant was victim to a break-in early Monday, Chicago police and the owner said.



The crime happened at about 3:49 a.m. at Brulée Chicago in the 2000-Block of S. Michigan Avenue, police said.

The owner and chef of the restaurant Emani Roberts said they opened their doors about five months ago.

Surveillance video shows burglars break the front window of the business and head straight for the counter.

Chicago police said they took an ATM.



The burglary happened in less than one minute.

Police said the suspects fled in a silver of grey SUV southbound on Michigan Avenue.

Brulée will be closed on Monday for repairs, but Roberts said they will reopen on Tuesday.
