Surveillance video shows thieves crash into Lakeview restaurant, target ATM

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Crash and grab thieves targeted a 24-hour restaurant on Chicago's North Side, police said.



It happened on Monday at about 3:43 a.m. at the Golden Apple Restaurant in the 2900-block of N. Lincoln Avenue.

Surveillance video obtained ABC7 shows a grey Jeep Grand Cherokee crash into the front of the building.

Footage shows people inside the restaurant run away from the crash. It was not immediately clear if they were patrons or employees.

Crash and grab thieves targeted a 24-hour restaurant on Chicago's North Side, police said.



Thieves then carry out the ATM.



Police say the thieves took off in another SUV that was waiting for them.





The Jeep used to crash into the building was left behind.



Nobody is in custody, Chicago police said.

The owner tells ABC7 that nobody was injured.
