Woman charged with hate crime in Pilsen mural vandalism and attack, officials say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman accused of vandalizing a mural in Pilsen and then attacking someone who tried to stop her is now facing charges.



The crimes happened in June and May, Chicago police said.

Danielle Wasserman is facing several charges including a hate crime and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, officials said Friday.

The mural Wasserman is accused of vandalizing symbolizes solidarity between Chicago's Mexican and Palestinian communities.
