2 violent robberies reported 6 minutes apart in the Loop, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- In two different incidents, three people were beat up and robbed as they walked the streets of Downtown Chicago on Tuesday, according to Chicago police.



Around 2:40 a.m., a man, 49, and a woman, 46, were walking in the 100-block of Adams Street in the Loop.

As they were walking, a four people jumped out of a car, struck the victims, and took their things, police said.

The victims told police they did not see any weapons. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to CPD.



About 6 minutes later, a 61-year-old man was on the sidewalk in the 100-block of North LaSalle Street when he was robbed at gunpoint.

He told police that four offenders jumped out of a dark vehicle, took his phone and money and hit him on the back of the head.

The 61-year-old man was treated on the scene by Chicago firefighters.

No one is in custody in either incident. CPD detectives are investigating.
