VIDEO: Thieves break into 3 Avondale businesses, owners say

Updated 1 hour ago
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Three businesses in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood were broken into Tuesday morning, the owners said.

It happened at a strip mall near Elston and Addison avenues, the owners said.

Thieves targeted O'Reilly Auto Parts, Chesa's Bistro, and Jimmy John's.

Surveillance video of the break in at Jimmy John's shows multiple people in masks smash through the front door with a brick.

The owner of Chesa's Bistro arrived early Tuesday to check on her business. She said it's the second time her bistro has been hit in three years.

"It's devastating as a business owner," Chesaree Rollins, owner of Chesa's Bistro, said. "We are here for the community. None of us have anything of value on site and we have notifications outside saying that. It's just a disappointing situation all around."

Police are still investigating.
