Woman killed in hit-and-run crash in West Englewood, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday morning, according to Chicago police.



The crash happened at about 2:13 a.m. on Ashland Avenue near 66th Street, police said.

Police were called to a crash involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they found that a woman had been hit by a car.

The victim died at the scene.



CPD said a gray Nissan Maxima was speeding traveling northbound and fled the scene.

Police said the car had a broken and damaged grille, damaged hood, broken windshield, and damaged roof.
