Man found dead on CTA Blue Line tracks on West Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are conducting an investigation after a man was found unresponsive on CTA Blue Line tracks Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at about 3:43 a.m. in the 700-block of South Central Avenue.



Police said the man made contact with the third rail and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The incident prompted a temporary suspension of the CTA Blue Line between UIC/Halsted and Forest Park. Trains have since resumed running.
