Man, dog die in house fire on far Northwest Side, Chicago fire and police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man and a dog died in a house fire on Thursday morning, Chicago fire and police said.



The fire happened at about 5:50 a.m. in the 5800-Block of N. Louise Avenue in the Edgebrook neighborhood, police said.

When first responders arrived, they found a man with burns to the body inside the home.

Police said he died at the scene. No other information about the victim was released.



The house fire began in the garage as a car fire, according to Chicago Fire Dept. officials.

CFD said a dog was also found dead.

No other information was available.
